As an MCU Loan Officer, you’ll do more than process loan applications — you’ll be a key player in helping individuals and families achieve their financial goals. Whether it's a first car, a dream home, or funding for life’s next big chapter, you'll guide members through the lending journey with empathy and expertise.
MCU Loan Officers are responsible for interviewing and evaluating applicants for routine loans and processing loan applications. They successfully gather background information and analyze loan applicants’ credit history, and approve or deny loan applications based on analysis. They operate with moderate credit authority and promote credit union products and services based on member needs. In addition, they handle a variety of transactional services, including opening new accounts, servicing existing accounts, and responding to member requests, problems, and complaints. They also conduct research on member accounts when necessary.
1 - 2 years' experience as a loan officer is preferred. Well-qualified candidates will have a strong knowledge of computer programs, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to read, interpret, and positively reinforce policy and procedures, and have an advanced understanding of lending regulations and policies.
Member Service Representative: Montana Credit Union currently has an opening for a Member Service Representative. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing exceptional member service and will display a positive and professional attitude. We are looking for someone who takes personal initiative, is a team player and who will embrace the Credit Union’s philosophy. The MSR serves as a liaison between our members and the credit union. They greet and welcome members and visitors in a professional manner and provide prompt, efficient and accurate service in the processing of member transactions.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: responding to members’ requests, problems and complaints, and/or directing them to the appropriate team member for specific information and assistance, providing in-person and by-telephone both general and specific information concerning credit union products, services and policies, opening new accounts and servicing existing accounts, handling requests from members for transfers of shares to loan payments, share withdrawals, check requests, share certificate transactions, line of credit advances, and any other requests received from members, assisting with plastic card re-issue and disputes, closing accounts, setting up IRA’s, assisting members in balancing their accounts, and researching accounts for deposit, withdrawal, and loan payment discrepancies. MSR’s also promote credit union products and services based on member’s needs. If you have great attention to detail, are able to multi-task efficiently in a busy work environment, have outstanding interpersonal skills, and are able to work both independently and as part of a team, this could be the job for you!
