Mortgage Loan Processor: We are looking to hire a full-time Mortgage Loan Processor to serve our real estate team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing exceptional member service and will display a positive and professional attitude. We are looking for someone who takes personal initiative, is a team player and who will embrace the Credit Union’s philosophy. The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for assisting members with their mortgage loan needs. This person will primarily assist the Mortgage Loan Originator with collecting and verifying personal and financial information as well as working with investors, appraisers, realtors and title companies.
The processor will ensure timely and accurate completion of our member’s mortgages originated by our lenders. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: reading and understanding buy-sell agreements and title reports, obtaining flood certifications and insurance binders, validating income verification and tax return information, obtaining letters of explanation, ordering appraisals, submitting data to secondary market options based on lending programs (Conventional, FHA and VA), preparing legal documents and disclosures, working with underwriters to satisfy closing conditions, coordinating loan closings, funding loans with accounting entries, promoting the real estate program to realtors and the public, and preparing various reports. Strict confidentiality is a must. Applicants should also have a working knowledge of all federal and state regulations relating to mortgage lending products such as SAFE Act, Reg B, Reg C, Flood Disaster Protection Act, Homeowners Protection Act, RESPA, Fair Housing Act and all other regulations and laws specifically applicable to first mortgage and other mortgage products and services. A successful candidate must have or be able to register with the Nationwide Multistate System and Registry (NMLS). Two years similar or related experience preferred with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, USDA and VA.
