Loan Officer - we are hiring a full-time Loan Officer to join our growing credit union. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing exceptional member service and will display a positive and professional attitude. We are looking for someone who takes personal initiative, is a team player, and who will embrace the Credit Union’s philosophy. Loan Officers are responsible for assisting members with their loan needs and helping them achieve their financial goals. They interview and evaluate applicants for routine loans and process loan applications. They gather background information, analyze loan applicants’ credit history, and approve or deny loan applications based on analysis.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: gathering background information on loan applicants by interviewing them and obtaining credit bureau reports, assisting members with the loan application process to ensure completeness of information, calculating debt-to-income ratios on loan applicants, calculating how much of a loan applicant’s debt is secured or unsecured, determining collateral needs and payment plans for members applying for loans, and completing loan documents and disbursing loans when approved. When a loan is denied, the loan officer explains the reasons for denial in a professional, courteous manner and works with members to provide recommendations or alternative options for other possible ways to secure a loan in the future. Loan officers enroll borrowers into debt protection and other loan products such as GAP. They prepare legal and lien perfection documents for loan closings. They assist with member services, and other lending tasks such as loan workouts, post-closing duties such as lien releases, perfecting DMV liens, insurance follow-up, due date change requests, skip-a-payments and more. They provide general credit union information and cross-sell services. 2-3 years prior lending experience preferred.

 

Member Service Representative: Montana Credit Union currently has an opening for a Member Service Representative. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing exceptional member service and will display a positive and professional attitude. We are looking for someone who takes personal initiative, is a team player and who will embrace the Credit Union’s philosophy. The MSR serves as a liaison between our members and the credit union. They greet and welcome members and visitors in a professional manner and provide prompt, efficient and accurate service in the processing of member transactions.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: responding to members’ requests, problems and complaints, and/or directing them to the appropriate team member for specific information and assistance, providing in-person and by-telephone both general and specific information concerning credit union products, services and policies, opening new accounts and servicing existing accounts, handling requests from members for transfers of shares to loan payments, share withdrawals, check requests, share certificate transactions, line of credit advances, and any other requests received from members, assisting with plastic card re-issue and disputes, closing accounts, setting up IRA’s, assisting members in balancing their accounts, and researching accounts for deposit, withdrawal, and loan payment discrepancies. MSR’s also promote credit union products and services based on member’s needs. If you have great attention to detail, are able to multi-task efficiently in a busy work environment, have outstanding interpersonal skills, and are able to work both independently and as part of a team, this could be the job for you!

 

Personal Video Teller (PVT): Looking for a rewarding and stable career? We are looking for a full-time Teller/Personal Video Teller (PVT) to join our team. PVTs are responsible for serving members via our Personal Teller Machines as well as on the teller line (both lobby and drive up). This is a full-time position that includes rotating shifts to include opening, closing, and Saturdays.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service and will display a positive and professional attitude. We are looking for someone who takes personal initiative, is a team player, and will embrace the Credit Union’s Philosophy (see “Vision Statement” and “Statement of Values” on Montana Credit Union’s homepage). Our Personal Video Tellers are responsible for processing a variety of financial transactions, including: check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, credit card and loan payments, and balancing of a cash drawer. Attention to detail, including verbal and written instructions, strict confidentiality, compliance with Credit Union regulations, and the ability to navigate multiple computer systems are required for this position.
